Winter Weddings are the new “in” thing, gone are the days of the must-have August wedding, it’s all about the cosy winter nuptials. So why are people opting for a colder season for their wedding? 1. Christmas…!
Picture the scene, beautiful Christmas tree, fairy lights, and baubles strung from every corner. Not only will the décor be magical, but you can treat your guests to mulled wine, mince pies and hot chocolate. If you are a lover of all things Christmas, why not make the season even more special by having a Christmas themed wedding. You never know, Father Christmas might make a surprise appearance.
2. Weather
We all know the weather in winter is going to be colder meaning there is no stress on the day about where your pictures are to be taken and more importantly where the ceremony will be. The likeliness is you will probably have planned for the colder weather so there will be no surprises or stress on the day.
3. Talk of the town
Summer is a popular time to get married, chances are your family and friends have attended more than one over the summer period making yours just another day. With a winter wedding you will be the talk of the season and with Christmas being so close everyone will be in great spirits.
4. Black Tie
For those of you who are after a fancy affair, a winter wedding is perfect for a black-tie wedding. Who doesn’t love to get all dressed up!! Get your loved ones to doll themselves up ready for the classiest wedding of all time. Also, imagine the pictures!!
5. Fire
Ok, so this probably looks worrying but I’m talking about fireplaces and sparklers. There is no better time to get those sparklers lit, not only is it fun for the kids (and adults) they make great photos. If you are lucky enough to get married in a venue with an open fire you can get cosy with your newlywed.
6. Honeymoon goals
Last but not least, getting married in the winter means if you are planning a honeymoon you can go in the offseason. This means you can get a cheaper holiday and have yourself some winter sun.
